Balloon Fiesta Part 1

So today marked the first day of Balloon Fiesta. We didn't partake in any of the festivities, but we could see the balloons in the distance. We also had some balloons fly over our house. I don't think they came from the Fiesta grounds though. We watched some of the festivities on tv and learned that some of the balloons do a "dunk and dash" I think they called it. They dunk the bottom part of their baskets in the Rio Grande and then go back up in the air, it was fun to watch. We will post more pictures after we go to the launch later in the week.

It's weird to see clear blue skies like that. I'm just now realizing that I practically haven't seen that since we moved to Seattle in August.

I have a feeling your family is in for a fun week. Just getting to see balloons so close to your home would be fun for me. Keep us updated on all the festivities!

The weather in Albuquerque is unbelievable. We are truly spoiled to live in a place where the weather is this good. It's blue skies almost every single day, to the point where we rarely check the weather.

If we move from here to Seattle or Portland, it's going to be a real shock.
